Golden Heart is the debut solo album by Mark Knopfler, following a successful career leading the British rock band Dire Straits and composing a string of critically acclaimed film soundtrack albums. The album was released on 26 March 1996. The song "Darling Pretty" was featured on the Twister movie soundtrack.[2]

"Cannibals" is the second single from the album. It is very similar in sound and structure to Dire Straits hit "Walk of Life", also written by Knopfler.

The song was the concert opener for the 2008 Kill to Get Crimson world tour.
